Luckily, games from developer Bethesda are notorious for how moddable they are, with games like Skyrim and Fallout 3 still sustaining massive modding communities years after their respective releases. However, there were some aspects of Fallout 4 that fans of the series found lacking. The game brought numerous changes to the series, including a new story, new factions, and base-building mechanics. This in turn provides players with a reason to stick around or, in some cases, a reason to return to the game after a long hiatus.Fallout 4 drops players into an irradiated wasteland surrounding Boston. New mods for the game are being created all the time, many of which can completely change the look and feel of settlements. While some might perhaps see this as a testament to the game's quality though, others will instead point to the excellent work being done by the game's talented and dedicated modding community.
